No training accreditation exists at Master Practitioner level. You apply to EMCC yourself and bring your own "contribution to the profession". This course builds the mastery behind that application.
You don't need 2,500 coaching hours before you start
This is the question we hear most. The 2,500-hour requirement applies to your final ICF MCC credential application, not to enrolling in this program. If you're close to that number, or still building toward it, starting now means the course sharpens your coaching while you accumulate the rest.
It is also the better order. From the first weeks you are coaching at MCC level, so the clients you take on while you build your hours get a better coach than the ones who came before them. And you are not left to find practice on your own: peer groups between sessions, reciprocal coaching through the alumni community, pro bono placements we arrange with organizations, and at least one of your own recordings analyzed by the trainer and the class.

Do I need 2,500 coaching hours before I start?
Most asked
No. The 2,500-hour requirement applies when you apply for your ICF MCC credential, not when you enroll in this course. Many participants start while still building toward that number. The course sharpens your coaching in the meantime, so you're more than ready by the time you apply.
Will I need to change my coaching approach?
No. We work with coaches from many different backgrounds and help you deepen whatever approach you already use, we don't ask you to start over.
How much time does this take each week?
Around 3.5 hours on average: your 2-hour live session, plus peer practice and recording review. It's manageable alongside a full coaching practice.
What's the prerequisite for this course?
125 hours of prior ICF-accredited coach training. SF Coaching Fundamentals and Coaching in Organizations together meet this requirement, or we can recognize equivalent training from elsewhere.
Who are the trainers?
All trainers are certified ICF MCC and EMCC coaches with over a decade of real-world coaching experience. Kirsten Dierolf, our program director, is a member of the ICF assessor team for PCC and MCC candidates.
